Buyer Tips Refurbished Gaming Laptops

Refurbished gaming laptops are laptops that are generally a year old or more old, and have been refurbished to meet new product performance. In the past many prospective buyers were uncertain about the wisdom of buying a refurbished product. Today when purchasing a refurbished product you can be certain the product will perform to an acceptable level if you take some simple steps. If you are purchasing from an online store be sure the store or individual has been in business for a period of time that reflects 20 or more transactions. If you are buying on eBay, the feedback score is a very safe measure for determining if the purchase will be a safe bet. Make sure the store has a functioning technical support telephone number, and you can contact the company. It is a good idea to call the number and talk with someone there to be sure you are comfortable that they will be available when you need them. Avoid a store that only makes contact with email. Email is very usable means of communicating, after you are comfortable that you can get answers to your questions by talking to someone at the company. Make sure you receive a product warranty with the product you are buying. The warranty period on a refurbished gaming laptop will not be as long as on a new product. A good warranty period on a refurbished laptop is 90 days. When you consider that a refurbished product will have experienced the so called "infant mortality failures" that a new product encounters a shorter warranty should not be a problem. Regarding supplemental items, be sure you understand what items will come in the box when it arrives. It is typical that a refurbished gaming laptop will have the same items that accompanied the new version of the product. If the product you are buying is a year or more old since new manufacture it is a good idea to plan on purchasing a replacement battery. Most sellers will let you know if the battery will hold a charge, and its smart to plan for purchase of a new battery up front so you won't be disappointed later. If you follow these few tips you will find that buying a refurbished gaming laptop is a very cost effective way to buy a good product of new technology, without the "sticker shock" of the new price of a gaming laptop
